Does the Translogs area have to be in a partition of it’s own or can it simply be a dirctory on an existing partition???
If it does, why???
If not, are there any issues I should know about???
Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Redhat 8.0 translogs
It can be a directory on an existing partition. The only concern is the performance aspect of having the tran logs on a shared disk (the head movement will slow down the log writes/forces).
