Almost all the computers here has the client 7 and often we have the problem of Red X showing up instead of images like a lot of person using the client 6.x 7.x. We tried everything and it didn’t worked.(proxy, perweb,cache, etc…)
But what I just noticed in testing the new client 8.5, if I open the same e-mail from the same mail file, i see the image on 8.5 but not on 7. So this means that it’s most likely a client issue.
Is there a way to correct this problem with my clients 7.x?

There have been multiple reports of Red X issues in multiple versions of Lotus Notes. Some messages would display without issue and some would display as red x’s. This also depends on the way the message was created, and multiple reasons why it is a Red X. Potential the image link can be to a website or file server a person does not have access to or no longer available, the way it was written and added to the message to name a few. We have had some update to the 8.5 Codestream and 7.0.4 Codestream where you should see a difference. Here is an example of one of the most recent updates.

As to the previous versions making we created Software Problem reports and it would be best to upgrade to the latest version to avoid issues like these
