As Domino 6 was certified to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 2.1 (UP) only, with the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0, is IBM has any roadmap for solving the long pending issue of JRE conflict for SMP usage.
Is IBM is working to certify the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 with Lotus Domino 6.5 or R6 release.
With the Upcoming Linux market IBM should should resolved this issue …
I also intested on knowing an official IBM answer here ASAP.
I have a bi-processor machine where I was going to install Domino on Linux and I can not do it, since it is not official statement regarding the support on this plataform yet.
My business is tied to Red Hat Enterprise versions. As most of you known, version 2.1 was not supported because a problem with the kernel. Version 3.0 is now out (the problem of the kernel seems to be solved there), but IBM still did not positioanate about it.
As a business, I can not afford to use not enterprise version of linux. Need to go with Red Hat EAS. So, IBM, are you going to support the most popular and extender Linux platform ?
I too am interested in an answer. I have upgraded a 2.1 working install to 3. I can get notes to run, but loading the HTTP task immediately causes the server to NSD. It does this whether I boot the SMP or the UP kernel.Guess it’s back to 2.1 UP until we hear an answer.
