How can I recover the ID passwordfor a user that never connected to
the server with a Notes client and
have a ID file in the person document.
(He used a web browser for a long time
and the password orginaly set is lost.
It is not working with the “Extract recovery password” routine.
I can normaly recover passwords for other users
but they have no ID:s in their person documents
as they already connected once to the server
with a Notes client.
Maybe a way to delete the ID file from
his person document will help.
Maybe some other way, a decryption/hacking tool
for ID files …
Thank you.

A copy of the ID file existing in the person document shouldn’t have any bearing on whether or not you can extract a recovery password from the ID.
How did you register the user? If your certifier ID file had recovery information in it, then the original ID file (in the NAB) should be recoverable.

All my users is regstred with theAdministrator as “password recovery”
and signed. I have recovered
ID passwords before with no problems
but it is not possible if the
users ID is still in his
person document and he never have
logged in with a Notes client.
Well I just recreated the user
with a new ID but it feels strange
that it is impossible to recover
an ID on those conditions.

How about just detaching the ID file from the directory by an administrator and then running the recovery process on it?
Ok, you need to send the ID afterwards manually to the user, you can’t simply reattach it to the person document (well, you could, but I don’t want to go into programming details here).
This will not work if you’re using the Domino 6 CA process, however.
