Recommendations for SMTP Gateway software

Can anyone guide me what I should be looking at if I want to buy a cheap, basic SMTP gateway package that runs with Domino. I have limited budget, and even more limited knowledge in this area, and all I want to do is to get my (very few) users off local POP/SMTP accounts.

All help gratefully received.

Ummm… Not sure I understand what you want. Domino includes fully functional SMTP, POP and IMAP services, and it works with any other SMTP server. The Notes client works with most POP and IMAP servers, too.

Thanks for the response.

Yes, clients do work with SMTP servers, but this means you have to set up accounts for each user separately. Same with POP.

Although I’ve asked this question several times, no-one has been able to explain to me how I get my Domino SMTP service to authenticate itself to my mail service provider. Therefore, any mail I send via the server sits in the smtp.box forever. Maybe you can throw some light on this. The only way I’ve been able to get this to work, in the past, is to have a third-party SMTP gateway that can authenticate itself - but the one I had has gone out of business, and I need to replace it.
