Recertification

Hi,

I currently run a domino 6.02 server for a specific notes application. This application is used by a certain group of users, which I gave a userid that was valid for 3 months.

Now, those 3 months are over, and I want to update the id’s with another 3 months. Users get a message that they should request their admin to recertify them. This isn’t possible, because the users don’t have a mailbox on the system we use, so I can’t send them the newly certified stuff back.

I tried to recertify a user from the administrator, but the user still gets the notification that he should update the certificate.

What is the right procedure for revalidating the users id files? I noticed that the ID file itself doesn’t change after recertifying.

If you the original certificate has expired, you are going to have a problem.

Why are you doing it this way instead of just managing the ACL acess for these users (that you can put in a group? WOuld be less headache.

You need access to your users id-files since you passed expiration date. Now certifý the ID-files with with the new dates and redistribute the id-files.I agree that using groups is a better approach. Create or use a Deny only group, add this group to the Not Access this Server field in the server document, and restart the server. Whenever you need to prevent a user from using the server just add them to the group.
