Recent Contact and user name change

Hi,

When we rename a user in the domino directory, the change are replicated automatically to all local replica and the end-user finally grap the new name. With the Release 8, and the new Recent Contact list in the personal address book, when the end user begin to type the name of the user in a new memo, it automatically find his old name in the recent contact list. Does all our users will have to delete the name in their recent contact list to obtain the new user name?

This can happen as well if we change the user of Organizational Unit (OU).

Please give me your feedback…

Is there a fix for this? It looks like a big bug to me that the recent list doesn’t update when people change names.

We are running 8.0.2

I checked with the developers who work on the DPAB (recent contact) entries and they said the best approach would be to delete the ‘old name’ recent contact.

We have experienced the same thing at our company. But as an extra feature the name is changed in the NAB without “remembering” the old name by keeping an extra entry for it.

It actually triples the new name in user name field.

But when you say the best practice is to delete the “old name” in recent contacts - isn’t there a better way to deal with this? We will have to tell 2-300 users to delete 15-20 entries in their personal addressbooks? It sounds like a lot of trouble, and chance for error and mistakes from the user.
