We have a PC we have upgraded to Lotus Notes 8 - whenever the user receives an email, those CC’d are automatically added to the contacts list. How does one disable this function?

It’s worse than every address in emails you get in - it’s pretty much everything you type into an addressing field - misspelt addresses, the lot.
Basically, use the “Do not automatically add names to the Recent Contacts view” preference in the “Contacts” tab of the Preferences dialog.
