Receipts From non recipient

I have a user who is receiving receipts from person A to whom she never sent any emails. These emails had been sent to other people BCDEFG… but not to person A.

Any ideas on what’s going on?

Subject: Regarding return receipts

There is not enough information given to state for sure. However, one thing to check - was this email sent to one or more groups? Is it possible that person A was in a group this email was sent to?

If possible, contact person A and verify whether they did in fact receive the email from this person. If so, then the return receipts are working as they should, and the sender who is receiving these receipts must be mistaken about whom they sent the email to.
