Reassociation and Calendar Issues

We have an ID Management department that has gotten a little over-enthusiastic about doing reassociations (creating a new ID for an existing user and reassociating that with the existing mailfile), trying to shortcut problems with renames. I have stomped pretty hard on this, but in the meantime, we’re having some problems.

We have several reassociated users whose calendars now appear to be perfectly open, even though they are loaded with events accepted or created by the “old” ID.

I have tried a number of different fixes, including deleting busytime.nsf and validating scheduler, all to no avail. Currently, my “slash and burn” fix is to find the old ID on the user’s computer (if possible), and completely back out the reassociation. Unfortunately, the ID Management techs’ enthusiasm may have extended to deleting all old IDs.

How can I get the calendar entries reassociated with the user? This problem includes some fairly high powered folks with REALLY busy calendars, and any ideas are gratefully accepted!

You could try to tweak to button “Update my meeting” but instead of the name’s resource, change it for the chair person.

I should have mentioned – although I have lots of Admin experience, I never really learned to develop.

I do thank you for the extensive list of possible resources. However, the only one of these items that seems to be on point, “How to re-create the Busytime.nsf or Clubusy.nsf file o,” fails when I click on the link:

I don’t know whether the link is corrupted or the info is simply no longer available.

What I really need, though, is something that doesn’t seem to be addressed. I have an “old” user with a new ID. In creating that new ID, they slightly changed the Fully Qualified Name (“John Q. Public” to “John Public”). The mailfile belongs to “John Public” now – but the calendar documents don’t as far as free/busy time is concerned. How can I fix this, other than finding a working copy of the original ID and rolling back the reassociation?
