Reading Documents in DWA and still show unread in client

When I read documents through the Domino Web Access it marks them as read when I am finished. However when I arrive at work to my desktop client it shows the mail as unread.Is there a setting or a way around this?

if the database is not on the same i.e. on the same server/machine for weba dn notes access, then you need to synch the read/unread marks, see the database properties(I think)
