Readers Fields and User ID Aliases

Hello,

We have a small issue which involves a Notes User ID which has an Alias. e.g. John Doe/XX/XXX and Alias John_Doe

When the user ID is input into a readers field, the name is automatically converted to use the alias, so John Doe/XX/XXX is selected but Notes automatically converts this into John_Doe - The readers field acts as normal.

When John Doe/XX/XXX is manually input into the readers field, the user cannot access the document.

The problem we are trying to resolve is getting Notes to show the registered name and not the Alias in the readers field, when a user id has an alias.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Subject: Check the person document in the NAB

Check the person document in the Public Address Book (Domino Directory) and check the values in the ‘User name’ field. Is the full canonical name shown first followed by common name and aliases?

Subject: Aliases

No. But it is purposely set-up this way by our Admins. An Alias comes first before the actual registered name.

We have solved this however with a load of formula lookups to lookup the alias in the NAB and return the registered name.
