Read Inbox Mails with Domino COM library

Hello.

I tried to use the Domino COM library to read the mails in my Lotus Notes Email Inbox. Also I want to read the folder structure of my Lotus Notes.

This is quiet difficult because I only found sample code for generating new documents and mailing them somewhere. But I just want to read existing mails, without knowing their exact folder name or ID.

I was trying something like:

  • creating a session object and initializing it

  • using the GetDbDirectory method of the session object to get the right dbs

  • using the OpenMailDatabase method of the NotesDbDiretory object to get the mail databse

Now the problem begins. I found no useful samples how to go on with this NotesDatabase object.

I tried:

  • using the Views of the NotesDatabase object… seems to contain all folders, but also more…

  • from these views you can get Entries and Documents, but how to actual get folder names and emails I could not find out… yet…

So before I m going to waste days to crawl through countless objects I am asking here: Does anybody have a nice simple little sample code how to read folders and mails from Notus Lotes using the COM objects? Or a link to more information? The programming language does not matter too much. I am using C#, but I m very fine with VB samples too
