Read ACL-Log entries with LotusScript

Hi,

does anybody know how i could access the information stored in the “ACL log” with LotusScript ? (In each db in the ACL dialog if you hit “History” you get a list of ACL changes in the format “01.01.2007 11:11:11 User X changed entry -Default-”)

Via the API ?

Via DXL ?

Any idea where this information could be stored ?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Bye

Lars

Hi Lars,

You can certainly use DXL to get the log entries. Here’s a snippet in Java…

	try {

		Session session = getSession();

		AgentContext agentContext = session.getAgentContext();

		Database db = agentContext.getCurrentDatabase();

		Database dbExport	= session.getDatabase( "", "dxltest.nsf" ) ;

		Stream stream = session.createStream();

		String filename = "c:\\temp\\test.dxl";

		if (stream.open(filename)) {

			stream.truncate();

			NoteCollection nc = dbExport.createNoteCollection(false);

			nc.setSelectAcl( true ) ;

			nc.buildCollection();

			// Export note collection as DXL

			DxlExporter exporter = session.createDxlExporter();

			String output = exporter.exportDxl(nc);

			stream.writeText(output);

			stream.close();

		}

	}

	catch(Exception e) {

		e.printStackTrace() ;

	}

In the dxl file you should see a bunch of nodes like this:

Subject: Thats great. Thanks !

Hi,

thanks for this tip. I will try it with DXL.

This might even mean that I could “edit” some of these and import them back. I will give it a try.

(What i am trying to achieve is it get a list of all ACL changes by user through all databases. The option to “mark” all the entries which i have already processed would help me greatly to find only the ones whcih were added since my last check.)

Thanks again.
