A few times a year I get requests to delete email accounts. After I’ve deleted those accounts, management comes back and says ‘re-activate xxxx user’s email account’ and I end up registering that person as a new user.
Although I keep the email nsf’s for a few months, how can I easily merge the contents of the old mail file into the mail file of the newly re-registered user?
Thanks
Subject: Re: Re-Register Users - Use the existing database
Hello Gerald,
If you are preserving these users’ databases, during registration you configure the mail system as None instead of the default Lotus Notes. This will allow you to restore the database to the appropriate mail directory. Upon completion of the registration, you will need to edit the Person Document and update the mail information and reference the restored mail file.
This process will reduce the overhead of either a copy/paste or programmatic approach to merging old documents from an old database to a new one.

That sounds like what I would want to do.
