Radio and checkbox buttons

Hello, I was wondering is there any way to create radio or checkbox buttons to done the request below:

The fields level like this:

A level (text --can not be hidden).(radio or checkbox)

A-1 level (text --can not be hidden).(radio or checkbox)

A-2 level (text --can not be hidden). (radio or checkbox)

B level (text --can not be hidden). (radio or checkbox)

B-1 level (text --can not be hidden). (radio or checkbox)

b-2 level (text --can not be hidden). (radio or checkbox)

C level (text --can not be hidden). (radio or checkbox)

C-1 level (text --can not be hidden). (radio or checkbox)

C-2 level(text --can not be hidden). (radio or checkbox)

we only allowed to choose one of A, B, C.

if choosing A, we only allowed to choose one of A-1,A-2

the same thing as B and C

That means if we choose A, then A-1, only two buttons are selected, the others showing nothing.

The problem is if I created radio buttons, they are affect each other, I do not know how to do, is setting up the properties of the radio button working ?

Thanks a lot!!

Linda

Use radio buttons. Hide/unhide the second-level radio button fields based on the value of the top-level radio buton. Don’t forget to enable the field property “refresh fields on keyword change”. Keep in mind the hidden fields will still contain a value.

Thank bob for your responding. the thing is there are some text on each line, we don’t want hidden the text. Also, A-1 level radio buttons affect the A,b,and C level buttons, that’s my problem.

Thanks,

Linda

You can leave the text displayed by hide the radio buttons, even if on the same line, but putting the items into table cells. Just set your table to have no borders and nobody will know the difference. You can then add your hide-when to the radio buttons and always display your text.

In addition to the first response you can put some hide-when & data management code in your form’s QueryRecalc event.

Hi Collin, Can I get details about your ideas Please?

The reason to use QueryRecalc or PostRecalc is because it occurs more reliably than the field’s onChange event.Just do what would typically be done:

dim ws as new NotesUIWorkspace

dim ui as NotesUIDocument

set ui = ws.CurrentDocument

call ui.RefreshHideFormulas

Thank you so much. But I still have a problem.

When I clicked on the A, then I want to click A-1, the select of A was gone. I want keep A and A-1, but now, only keep one selection, I did not use hidden formula any more. A is a chechbox, and A-1, A-2 are radio buttons.

Any ideas about that Please.

Best regards,

Linda
