Hi,
Management is going to ask for modifications / customisations to be made to the R7 Resource Reservations system. I am hesitant to start down this road because I believe the system is complex to the point that modifications could seriously interfere with existing functionality.
Does anyone else have any opinions on this, either pro or con?

Hi,
It depends on what you want to do. If you want to add a few fields and stuff like that it may be ok. But you should not mess with certains elements. This db is not a stand alone database. It interacts with your public names.nsf and busytime\clubusy database, admin4. So, those databases may be looking for specific elements that you might want to modify.

You believe correctly. In addition, bear in mind that calendaring and scheduling tends to get a major rewrite on each new release of Domino, so after you upgrade your server to the next release, you would need to replace the design of your resource databases, and then attempt to reapply your modifications. Modifications that worked in one release may totally interfere with the functionality in the next release.
