R7 as smtp gateway on R6 scenario

Hi, we have an R6.5 environment. We want to implement disclaimer text, and we think the solution can be a R7 server acting as SMTP gateway to Internet, with server-based disclaimer text, so any mail going to Internet will have the disclaimer text.

Has someone experience with this scenario? Any other alternatives to disclaime text? Will it work?
