R7 and Visual Studio - are they antagonistic

I’ve recently upgraded one machine from R654 to R7 ( and today to R701) and it’s very unstable. Notes client just disappears quite frequently, no error messages, nothing. Sometimes it reports (a pop-up labled “Visual C++ Error”) that a Notes dll has performed an illegal function and then stops.

I know from bad experience that Visual Studio can mess-up everything else on a machine, and I have it on this one. Does anyone know of problems when these two are together?

Any help is appreciated.

I haven’t had any problems of the sort you describe. Of course, you could be talking about a more recent version of Visual Studio, but for what it is worth…
