R6 Clustering anyone have it actually working? Help needed

Hello, Ive tried about everything to get Domino r6 and clustering to work correctly. So far lotus support has been no help also. My main problem is mail failover doesnt failover to the backup server. Ive checked cluster.ncf and it has correct entries on client and cluster servers. Both are running 6.01 and can see each other and replicate just fine. Funny thing is if I cluster lets say a database like my address book failover occurs just fine.It only seems to happen on mail files. Ive checked acl they seem fine also.Cluster directory has the mail file as cluster enabled and replica id is exact for both servers. This is on a fresh install not an upgrade of 6.01 also running on windows 2000 server. Please if you have an R6 clustered environment working please give me some suggestions I read everything I could on the subject unfortunately there isnt to much documentation on r6 clustering even though r5 clustering is pretty much the same thing, but then again I never had a problem setting up a cluster on r5.Also i really just care for mail file failover not smtp.

Jimmy, I do have R6 cluster replication working between all mail databases in my domain. If you only care about mail failover, all you need to do is create the cluster and add the servers to this cluster, then create replicas of the mail databases on each cluster. By default, all replicas on each cluster member will use cluster replication. You will also want to make sure standard replication is occuring between the clustered servers. Also, you will want to disable cluster replication of the domino directory and adminp between the two servers. There was a really good article on clustering in the The View in 2002.

About mail database failover…Failover will only occur on a client if one of the servers becomes unavailable AND the user closes their mail database and re-opens it. Failover does not occur if the server goes down while the database is open. Since the mail database is sometimes incorporated into the welcome page of an end user, it may be necessary to restart Notes for failover to occur.

Hope this helps.
