I really like the clean look of the 6.5 template. The main left outline, the mail owner’s name at the top and the follow-up/to/new notices integration at the bottom are great. Very nice. Of course the Sametime stuff is very nicely done as well.
On the “slight tweaks for the future” front, the left outline in mail seems to be overlapped a few pixels against the left vertical blue line beside the whitespace…maybe it should move right a few pixels…it’s the only “polish” thing I can see that’s remaining. FYI…this appearance of mis-alignment was not there in R6.0.
It’d be nice if we could collapse the to do / new notices in calendar as we can in mail (and it might be nice to see follow-ups for calendar entries as well?).
Overall…really, really nice.
Personally, my customizations will include replacing the mail header design (I don’t like the header alignment when forwarded nor all the whitespace to the left of the address lines) and the “forwarded by” message. Other personal customizations (time willing) will include mail management tools (e.g. delete all from/to a certain address or domain, move all from/to a certain address or domain to a folder) and, time willing, an integrated contact list (that one’s a long shot given the time it’d take me…hopefully openntf can tackle it).
In closing, I fully support IBM’s decision to release more frequent updates to the client…it would have been a real pain to have to wait for these for another 18 months ala the previous big bang releases.

yeah its seems to be nice and well polished…some thing nice happening in notes client finally…
well … one thing what i was waiting to see…
when i go to particular folder i should be able to decide what kind of view i want to view a particular folder…
e.g person wise or date wise…
three cheers for good job… in 6.5
hope to see some new changes in new quarterly releases.

The Sametime integration needs some work. The chat boxes in Lotus Notes 6.5 do not keep focus. It needs an “always on top” setting, like the one found in Sametime Connect. There’s also no right-click menu for sending files, and no “share” or “collaborate” links for instant meetings. I’m undecided at the moment. I may suggest to my users that they keep Sametime Connect running, and to disable the Notes client IM for now.
Yes, you can run Sametime Connect and Lotus Notes 6.5 instant messaging both together. The problem is, when you receive a message it opens in the Lotus Notes chat window, and you can’t keep this chat window “always on top”. If only Lotus Notes didn’t do that, then I’d be happy running both together today.
Subject: different targets for IM integration and full IM client
The IM integration is there mainly for use in applications and basic awareness. For full featured IM, you need the client. I don’t think the integrated IM will ever be on par functionality wise with the Sametime client - otherwise sales of the full client would suffer.

Sales of full client? There’s only one version of the Sametime client license.1 user license = Lotus IM, Lotus Web Conferencing, Sametime Connect, Lotus Notes client IM.
Am I wrong about that?

Can anyone just tell me where i can find this Notes 6.5 Email Template and how do I know what version it is? Is that dependant on the version of the script library?
I have a basic working template but It does indicate it is not of the proper version when I replace design with it.
Can someone tell me what the standard Notes 6.5 Email is called and where to find it.

This seems to indicate some kind of mismatched version of Lotus Notes scripts. Is there such an entity as a standard Notes R6.5 template because the original fix for the same DELEGATIONACLMANAGER error was to
To address this issue, delete the Script library “ACLManagement” and do a Replace, Design with the MAIL50.NTF template.
But I am running NOTES R6.5. So what Mail template do I use? How do I know it is a 6.5 template anyway?
