I have an R5 db that uses forms with single category embedded views. When the forms are opened in an R5 Client, the embedded view shows correctly. When I use a Notes 6 Client to access the database, the embedded view shows no documents, and the status bar indicates ‘Category Not Found’.
To test a theory I copied the R5 db to a test Domiono 6 server. If I look at the database from the 6 server, with the 6 client, the views work properly. And interestingly the R5 client also sees the embedded views from the Domino 6 server.
Can anyone explain this?

I have just discovered this today, that I am in the same situation as you are. Did you ever get this to work properly afterwards?
The R5 server in question is not scheduled to be upgraded for another few weeks.
In my case, if there is only one document in the view all is working fine. If there is more than one document, then nothing displays in the embedded view.

I have a similar problem where I am seeing an embedded view in R6 but not in R5. I am on an R5 Server, using an R6 Designer (I know, bad idea) and the R6 users can see the embedded view fine, the R5 users cannot.
I also noticed that if I embed a view, date fields using the calendar control option disappear completely in R5.
I guess the R6 Designer has somehow placed a new feature (bug) into the mix?
