We have more than 300 users and most of them use “Domino Web Access”
I have users deleting all the e-mails in all folders including (Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Follow Up, Junk Mail, Trash, and their personal folders).
But still their Quota indicator shows that they have exceeded their quota.
Another issue regarding the quota is that the newly created user has around 17 MB of his quota already used. This can be surprising and confusing for the user.
One other thing to keep in mind is that Notes keeps deletion stubs after you delete documents. This is to let other replicas of the database know that documents were deleted. By default these are kept for 90 days, and they do take space.
I’ve always thought it was retarded that the quota is just based on total file size. There should be some way for the quota to exclude design elements.
I think you want the quota to use fle size. If you calculate your disk usage to performance ratio as an 80/20 rule, then you want to keep the file size at ‘X’ per file. That should include all design elements or you can’t calculate the usage correctly.
