Questions about "archived log extents"

Hi all,

In the Lotus C API Notes/Domino 7.0 Reference, the callback function of NSFRecoverDatabases is called if archived log extents are needed. I found that sometimes the callback is called, while sometimes it is not called. Does anyone know what is “archived log extents”? When will the “archived log extents” be needed?
