Questions about Archive Operation

Hello,I’m quite new in Domino environment, so i have some questions about mail archiving.

In our company users never had quotas on their mail databases, so in these years several “monster” db grew,some are even bigger than 10 gigabytes.

I don’t think that managing such huge databases is nice for our Domino, so i was thinking to archive the older mail and , after that, put some quotas on them.

1)Can i open the database and archive all the mails older than 1 year opening their database with a “master” id or should i always use the id of the user?

2)What’s the ideal mail quota to set for “normal users”?

Subject: use a policy

Andrea, the best thing to do is create an archive policy with the criteria you desire, assign that policy to the user(s)then run compact -a or -A, either manually or through a program doc.
