What has happened to this forum? 29 entries thus far today, 27 yesterday and Saturday the 22nd? ZERO! I know it’s a Saturday, but has that happened a lot recently?
Maybe I’m as guilty as anyone that when I have a problem I haven’t seen before I open a ticket with IBM, who are very, very responsive, I might add, but this used to be the first place EVERYONE came for Notes issues. Has domino lost that much of the market place, or is it just that more and more people out there are like me and go to IBM support first and then come here only occasionally these days?

I’m sure the biggest reason is that compared with 10 years ago there are WAY more resources available outside of this forum than there used to be. Maybe the built-in help’s gotten better too?
Honestly app dev hasn’t really changed in 10 years until 8.5 (which many serious app dev people still aren’t running) so it could be that the R5/6/7/8 forums are where people find answers to their dev-related questions.

What I’ve been noticing is that 60% or more are dev related issues.
Domino has always been easier to debug (At least I see it that way for the admin). A quick search in this forum and if it hasn’t been reported, is usually time for a PMR.
After a while, when you get to know how Domino works, becomes easier to debug.
Subject: IBM Support Assistant
I find that the IBM Support Assistant is great in finding issues online. Where I used to go for the forums Im now using the Support Assistant first.

The 6 and 7 forums seem to have a few more entries each day, so that’s probably part of it.
But maybe you’re also right in the fact that most of us have been here awhile now and we see less and less of the “never seen before” issues. Or maybe Notes is just that good and there aren’t that many problems anymore! Anyone having worked in the 8.5 designer knows that’s not the case. : )
Still…would like to see this forum more active like the old days, but maybe that’s unrealistic?
