Hi All ,
I came across to one unclear question in my one of interview the question goes like this
User try to login in notes client user get the message
" Your ID file expired please contact your administrator "
User send his id file and password to administrator and when administrator login with user id and password he is able to login without error.
Is it possible ?? if yes then how ? please explain me …

I am not completely certain but I have a blur memory of this happening to me. I think it was a problem with system date settings in user’s workstation.

Thanks for the reply , but If it is related to system time setting then if we change the system date to back date it mean ID file will never be expired as we continue to change it to back date when it as for ID expiration .

Hi,
Once ID is created then there will be a grace period for the ID file for expiry. It is total admin job admin will have full access to the ID files and he can extend the date or reset the password etc…

Thnks for your post , but mine question actually was if expired ID file is not working on user machine and its working on admin machine , how it possible ?? if it is related to system date setting then any body whose id file expired then he need to change the system date to back date … then there is no mean setting date of ID file for expiry. ?

The advice people are telling you is correct.
I ran into this very problem a few years ago when the owner of a small company had let the administration user ID expire. The customer had gotten plenty of warnings about the impending expiration but ignored them, then called me in a panic after the expiration date. The way I solved the problem was to turn back the clock on the server so I could log in with the expired administrator ID.
