Question about Notes Version

On a form, I have a computed text field, ‘UserFullName’, that computes by using a names lookup (@NameLookup) and gets the ‘FullName’ of the ‘User’ field which is a names field. Anyways, the ‘UserFullName’ is being computed correctly. When I and user1 saves the document, the field computes. However, when user2 saves the document, the ‘UserFullName’ field becomes blank. We all have different versions of Notes as described below. Does fields ‘act’ differently on different versions of notes? I do not understand how the version of Notes would affect how the form works. I hope someone can figure this out. Thanks in advance for your help.

me – > 6.5.5

user1 → 6.5.4

user2 → 6.5.3

The versions don’t matter…

What is the formula in the computed field?

Have you confirmed that user2 is in that particular Domino Directory in the view you use in your formula?

Is that user a new user? Looks like, your lookup might be failing. Just post your computed formula that is getting you the full name of the user, which might be helpful to find the reason for blank name. Might not be a version issue.

No, user2 is not a new user. The formula in the computed text field is below. Thanks for your help and sorry that I did not reply back yesterday.

FIELD User := user;

nameLookup := @Name([Abbreviate];@Subset(@NameLookup([Exhaustive]; user; “FullName”); 1));

@If(@IsError(nameLookup); “”; nameLookup)

What is this? FIELD User := userwhat is the value of ‘user’ for the user2?

Why u are setting the ‘User’ field here with itself in a computed field?

My guess:

For user2, ‘user’ might be blank. Hence lookup might be failing and returning you blank because of

@If(@IsError(nameLookup); “”; nameLookup)

This way you might get some results:

user := @Username;

nameLookup := @Name([Abbreviate];@Subset(@NameLookup([Exhaustive]; user; “FullName”); 1));

@If(@IsError(nameLookup); “”; nameLookup)
