Question about deployment

How to set the deployement of Lotus Notes 7.0.1 so that it deploys itself on the client computers just like a normal multiuser installation of the client ?

I tried everything so far, using a .mst file configured for a multiuser purpose, but i still get the “pernames.ntf does not exist” error when i try to configure a deployed client.

I’d just like the deployed version to be installed on the clients just like a normal multiuser installation from the Notes CD. Is it possible ?

Have you tried creating a response file? If so, this probably applies: Andy's House O' Blog: SnTT - InstallShield Tuner for Lotus Notes 7.0.1

He has full documentation in a PDF.

Yes, i created a response fil with installshield tuner.

I set the installation option to “AllUsers” in the MST file and specified the Data directory to be C:\documents and settings%username%\local settings\application data\lotus\notes\data

Using this .MST response file when deploying the application, everything went fine. But i still get the “pernames.ntf does not exist error” when trying to configure a deployed client.

I checked the .ini file to see if it was a “DIRECTORY=” error (many pernames.ntf related errors are due to the fact that the .ini file is pointing to the wrong folder), but my ini file is correct.

In fact, i’d just like to know the correct .MST parameters to deploy Lotus Notes just like a normal “all users” install with the original CD.

If it’s totally impossible, then maybe i should consider deploying it using a batch file, but i don’t know the correct arguments to install notes in a multi user way through command-line.

According to that link I posted, you can’t use the InstallShield Tuner on the 7.01 CD, you have to use the one on a prior release.
