Question about Address Book

Hi,

I would like to know if theres a possible solution for the following scenario.

If Lotus Notes Server is up the address book that is being searched by default when adding a recipient when sending out an email should be the Lotus Notes server address book. If Lotus Notes server is down the address book that should be searched by default should be the local address book that contains the internet email addresses when adding a recipient when sending out an email this will be necessary because the address book in the notes server will not be accessible and we will have to route emails through the smtp server of yahoo business mail. Would it be possible that the replica of the address book on the local workstations of the users will allow the smtp server of yahoo business mail to recognize the email address of the recipients included in the email? if possible how? thanx!

Subject: Question about Address Book

Hello Angelo,

In order for your end users to have a consistent replica of the server’s address book, you will want to utilize a Condensed Directory Catalog. You can push this database out to each client via a Desktop policy.

You will find more information regarding the Directory Catalog (DirCat) task, the Condensed Directory Catalog, and Desktop policies in the Domino Administrator Help.

Thanks!
