I am reading about how to use DB2 as a backend for domino data. I read I can create views and put a SQL statement in the selection formula like this
SELECT * From Sales
However this allows me to browse DB2 data only. What about if I want to update it? Should I put an INSERT or UPDATE in the selection formula as well using SQL syntax?
Domino Designer 7 help topic titled “DB2 query views” includes this statement - “Query view functionality is designed so that you cannot build an SQL statement that does not produce a result set. This is a security measure against inadvertent record deletion or change.”
If you want to insert or update data that is exposed from NSF to a DB2view through the use of DB2Access View, simply update the Notes document. If you want to insert or update other DB2 or DB2 federated data, look at using DECS server task, LCLSX or LEI.
