Publish Latest Document

Hi All:

I’ve created a Outline, put into page and then into Frameset. Now every of the content of the Outline, I need it to publish the latest document. How this is done?

Exp:

  1. Announcement

  2. Policy

  3. Request

All the above I got dbs and views holding user input. Everytime after users crated a new doc or updated the existing doc, the above Outline / Frameset should be smart enough to publish the latest doc

Now I’m using Doc link - static; is not really what I want.

Pls help.

thanks!

As you said, all the required views are ready and when clicking on the outline links you are opening the respective views.

So, what you want is the new/recently modified doc to be displayed to the user. For this, create a new column which has the value @LastModified. Hide this new column and sort it Ascending.

From there on, read the first document from the view which is always the new document and display it to the user.

Tx Phani for the prompt response.

I have all done till sort in decending.

But then how to “read” the 1st doc"???

I assume, you have embedded view in the form. Why not set the number of docs to show up in the embedded view to 1.

Ok, I got what you say but what I need is open up the latest doc on the target frame automatically. What you tip me able to see only the “piece” of doc from the view.

  3. etc

when user click the above, the latest doc on that db will be open up automatically on the target frame.

Tx!

Ok…I got it now.

You can always open the first document in the view by this statement -

@URLOpen(“./db.nsf/ViewName/$first?OpenDocument”)

You need to change the path inside @urlopen. $first always refer to the first document in the view.
