Public key

Hoi, I have trouble with the servers public key. Since 5 years i registrate users with the same cert id and had no troubles until now. I can register a user without any problem but when i try to configure him with a notes client i always get the following message: “The subject’s public key found in the certificate is not the one stored in the server’s ID file for that entity.” This happens after i fill in the password. Opening the mailbox from another user is no problem. Also i can access the users mailbox from iNotes. Dos anyone have a clue what certificates are generating the problem here and what can i do about it.

I had this exact same error message once, at a customer site. In the end, it turned out that the cert.id file had become corrupt. In my case, it had an extra byte of data in it.

Try restoring cert.id from backup, and try again.

Thx Peter for the suggestion but i already restored the cert-id and tried again but with the same result. If i inspect my id-files i see that the key identifier of the of the not working users is different from the key identifier of the existing users.

Thx anyway and if you have other ideas i would like to hear it from you
