Pslist for Lotus Notes Client on Max OS X

Dear Developpers,

In order to fix a recurent problem of assigning a network drive to Lotus Notes Client on MAC OS X from the 7.0.3 version. ( feedback WEBB7J5C22 )

Can you modify this file :

/home/Library/Preference/com.ibm.lotus.Notes.plist

Add a field on the plist (following Apple rules), a line who permits to change the local files path by default to a networkdrive as :

KEY : Rootdirectory Type : String Value :

( choice of the user in Preferences /Local Application Folder)

Many thanks for your help, for us it’s really important.

Subject: Could you tell us which version of Notes that you want us to provide this support?

Do you need this support in V7 or V8 Notes? We can open a SPR to track this issue and consider to fix it at a proper stage.

Subject: Modification pslist on 8.5

Actually we use the version 7.0.3 ( prod ), but, we will move soon to the version 8.5 final. (When available)

Actually I’m testing the 8.5 Revision 20081027.1445 (Build V85_10262008)

and I noticed the problem still present on this version.

If you can push to fix this we will appreciate.

Many thanks for your help.

Best Regards

Subject: Thanks for your feedback

I just read your previous feedback (WEBB7J5C22) and I guess what you want is a way to customize Notes’s data folder path, am I right?

There’s not a simple fix to support this feature, we may need some additional code change and sufficient test to ensure the quality. So I’m not sure when we can fix this problem. But we’ll consider your request in 8.5.1 release.

Subject: pslist modification & future release

Thank you.

For us it’s important to dissociate the application Lotus Notes Client from a physical computer.

Putting all Lotus Notes client & application settings on network instead remaining on local drive give us more possibilities ( Global strategies for easy Backup, and remote access to the application keeping personal settings for each user)

In windows version it’s possible change the local drive by a network drive, and now we start migrate to Mac Os X and we loose this feature.

We are happy to know you take care of our request and we hope this problem will be fixed and implemented in a future release.

Best Regards
