Provisional lock

Hi,

A/I try to use provisional lock on documents.

What I expect :

The lock is in effect when the user open the doc in Editmode.

The doc is unlock when the user close the doc.

This works fine but some times docs are not unlock when closing.

B/Second problem.

In the QueryModeChange of a particular document I check the Lockholders of all documents in database so as to see if one of them is in EditMode (Lockholders<>“”).

It works fine. But some times, the Lockholders is not empty whereas the doc is closed.

Any idea ? Is this a known bug ?

details of my problem :

this occurs when :

PersA open DocX in EditMode =>taskbar shows “lock success”

PersB try to open DocX => message is shown

PersB close DocX

PersA close DocX => sometime taskbar does not show “lock success”…

So sometimes when PersB try to open DocX in EditMode, message “Doc already lock by PersA” appears.

This seems to be a “random problem”…

I will appreciate any idea or advice…

Ok,I have been in touch with Lotus Support. This is a bug known in 6.5.1 that is supposed to be fixed in 6.5.4.

So I have to ask my customer for update its Notes client…

We also contacted Lotus Support, the bug is still there in 6.54.We did some tests and it looks like the problem appears if the two users are not on the same server. If they have the same mail server it works fine.
