If I have a configuration document that I want to be visible so a manager could update the settings if required, but I don’t want the document to be deleted because the application won’t work if it is, is there any way to trap the delete on this document?

You can do that, or you can just deny delete access universally. I do this frequently for my applications to avoid unintential deletions.

You can use lotuscript in the Querydocumentdelete database event. Test to see if the document that has been marked for deletion is your config doc. In that case you can set “continue” to false to prevent the deletion. In the designer expand “other”… then “database resources” …then “Database Script”
