Proper upgrade method

What is the proper upgrade method for Domino Installs? For example can I go from 6.5.4 to 6.5.5 or do I have to upgrade to 6.5.4 FP3 before upgrading to 6.5.5?

I found a tech note that states, “Generally, Maintenance Releases include fixes introduced both in prior Maintenance Releases, and in earlier Fix Packs.”

I read this as: I can upgrade from 6.5.4 to 6.5.5 because 6.5.5 will include fix packs 1, 2 and 3. Is this correct?

Thank you in advance for your responses!

Subject: Proper upgrade method

The UPGRADE from 6.5.x FPx to 6.5.z does not have to be in increments.

The upgrade should go like this. From the same version 6 to 7 is slightly more difficult but not to much of a deal. Check the red books for it.

Large environments should be done like this:

ADMIN Server (keep administrator clients the same or higher)

SMTP Servers (makes sure MIME settings and encoding is correct)

Mail / APPSServers

Summary of upgrade.

Take server down

RUN a house keeping whilst the server is down - NFIXUP / NCOMPACT / NUPDALL

PUT in CD (hit button a few times)

Bring server up (accept address book change “hit Y”)

This is where the true upgrade happens. Sit back and wait.

I can on about ODS and Desings but this will not change that much from 6.5.x to 6.5.z

I hope you understand a little more
