Prompt_password

Howdy from Texas,

I got a tough one I’m hoping you can help with.

I’m currently using the ‘PROMPT_PASSWORD’ type prompt in lotusscript. Everything is working perfectly. However there is one thing I’d like to do but can’t seem to find an answer.

When using ‘PROMPT_PASSWORD’ in a lotus script prompt the dialog box displays with a warning at the bottom that says,

“Warning: This is not a prompt for your Notes password. If you have any concerns about supplying a password, contact your system administrator”

The problem is I am prompting for their Lotus Notes password. I’d like to either remove the warning all together, or be able to override the verbiage.

Is this possible?

Here is the code.

askme2 = workspace.Prompt(PROMPT_PASSWORD, “Password”, “Please enter your Lotus Notes password.” + Chr(10) + Chr(10)+ “Please remember, Lotus Notes passwords are case sensitive.”)

Thanks everyone for taking a look.

Keith

I don’t think you can change that but there is a workaround. Create your own custom prompt using a Form you create along with DialogBox method. On the form make your field of type Password which will show as stars when the user enters something in the field. This way you can have 2 fields for the user to enter their password on the same form (prompt) and verify they match before user closes the dialogbox (your custom prompt)

Hi Paul,

Thank you for that idea. I’ll give it a try!
