Is there any way to hack the programmer’s pane in Designer so that it shows a black background with green text? Staring at this white screen all day while creating JavaScript libraries is starting to kill my eyes.

To my knowledge, there is no setting to change the background color for Progammer’s Pane only. You can change the properties for the text through the properties box. You can also enable the option ‘Use System Colors’ through the menu File > Preferences > User Preferences and select this option in the Addtional Options list on the Basics tab. The Programmer’s Pane background color will then match the option you have selected for your windows display.

Well, first of all, thanks for responding to my query. Unfortunately though, selecting this option causes the colors in the apps that I’m working on to appear different (incorrectly?) on the client side, and I’ve had to change it back.
Know of anyway that I can make the system colors only carry over to Designer?

Sorry, I do not know of a way that you can make the system colors only carry over to Designer. If you are trying to alleviate eye fatigue, you may want to experiment with changing the progammer’s pane properties.
