Programmatically creating a SmartIcon Button or Bookmark?

I have the following case:I’d like to create a button called “create smarticon for autotext” that my users can press, which will create a smarticon (or actually a bookmark would do in case smarticon is to difficult or impossible…) that contains a formula or lotusscript code of my choosing.

In this specific case I’m trying to create a function for autotext (company approved minutes of meetings, signatures, disclaimers, etc…). The users can then go to the richtext field where they want to place the predefined text, press a smarticon button which yields a list of texts/contents and then select one that is then pasted into the richtext field they selected.

So, the problem is not the autotext itself, but rather hos to let the users themselves incorporate that autotext button into their client…

Any ideas?

I’m a bit of a noob in programming, but I’m familiar with LotusScript and Formula programming.

EDIT: I forgot to say that the reason for not having this simply as an action button in the mailfile, is (perhaps obviously) to make it available to all Notes applications in our environment, not just the ones that have that perticular action button. Having it directly in the client somewhere makes it sort of universal…
