I will like to simplify some of my column formula. for eg, i have one column , which is budget, one column is actual, the last column is variance, can I make use of the programmatic formula , so that I can write the value of variance as budget-actual, rather than, i have to define again what is actual, budget, and do the computation based on this two variable in the column variance. tq.
Subject: Programmatic use in Column, can it use to compute formula?
You could use the Programatic name of the column and use that in a formula, or you if the programatic name gives you troubles (which they can sometimes), simply use the field or formula that makes up a particular column in your computed column.
For example, if you have Column A and the field that populates column A is Budget, and Column B who’s field is Expenses, you could have column C for Balance that says Budget-Expenses
