Hi all,
We have the following situation using the Notes client.
We have a database which opens a home page. When you click on an embedded outline on the home page it opens a frameset (the working framset) with a navigator on the left and a view on the right.
When the working frameset is open if the outline entries in the navigator are view elements the entry corresponding to the open view will appear selected.
If however, the outline entries are computed the entry will not appear computed. This makes sense because the client is able to correspond the view with the outline entry in the first example but not in the computed example.
My question is, has anyone been able to make an entry appear selected programmatically?
Any help/suggestions appreciated/
Regards
Nigel
Subject: Programatically make outline appear selected
Hope you have embedded outline(EO) in a page which you are using in your left navigator. If so in the embedded properties, there is a “Root Entry” property. Using this you can separate the same outline entries into two. Eg. Let’s say you have 2 outline entries. Put each under “Test1” and “Test2” respectively. If you use “Test1” in “Root Entry” in EO in page, you will see only first entry of that outline. Have a second page or in same page, create another EO and this time put “Test2” in the “Root Entry”. You will see the second outline entry.
Using this idea, have a page with all your working outlines and a dummy highlighted outline entry which corresponds to the view in the right frame. Only thing is you may have to refresh the left frame with a corresponding page, evrytime you click on a link. That means Open corresponding page in the left frame and view in the right frame.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that.
I have done similar in the past (and I think this is probably the only way you can do it) I must admit I hate the idea of having so many different page & outlines.
But again, that you for your suggestion.
