My address sorts fine under the contacts view, but when I switch to the contacts by category, I am unable to sort. I open the customize view and the “selected column” box does not pop open and allow me to sort. This makes it difficult to read my addresses by company name. Any suggestions are welcome.

The default sort in the Personal Address Book in the ‘contacts by category’ view is Category then name.
The name is sorted. It is displayed using the format you’ve selected for that individual document. You select this in the document, on the Advanced tab, in the field “Display name format”.
If you’d like to set them all at once, from this view click the “Tools” button and choose Preferences. Change the field “Newly created Contacts should have names formatted as:” and then click “update all entries”.
If you want something much different, you could create a new view or folder and design it anyway you like.
The only other way to change the sort on this is to use the designer client.

I continue to have sort problems in my contacts by category. The advanced tab permits me to sort by first or last name – but not by company. When I click on the “business” label at the top of the page, the categories are eliminated and I am given all my contacts together. My administrator (in Hong Kong) keeps trying to sort contacts by company but what I need is sorted by company by category.
