Hi all,
In my program that uses the C API on Linux, I put the path of the directory containing the notes.ini file (/local/notesdata) to argv[0] and pass it to NotesInitExtended. However, NotesInitExtended returns an error. When I try to get the error message with OSLoadString, segmentation fault occurs. I use %x to print out ERRNUM(err) after NotesInitExtended fails, and the result is “7”.
Does anyone know what the hexadecimal number “7” means, or anything that may cause error in NotesInitExtended?
Thanks,
Alan

You can pass the actual path to the notes.ini file in the second argument and leave the first argument as NULL.
Here’s an example:
char szIniName[MAX_PATH] = {0};
→ put path of notes.ini file into szIniName
int argc = 2;
char *argv[2] = {NULL, szIniName};
if(error = NotesInitExtended(argc, argv)) {
…
}

Thanks for your reply. I just found out that the environment variables are not correctly set. The problem is solved after correctly setting the PATH and other environment variables like LOTUS, Notes_ExecDirectory and NOTES_DATA_DIR.
