Problems with name change

I’m trying to initiate a name change on a person, via domino directory, actions, rename selected. Check adminp, and it dies with error “Title: Company Address Book File name: names.nsf; Error: The signature on the certificate was found to be invalid. Check the log file for details.” We have resigned the certifier, and still same error. I found one thing on the web stating it could be a corrupt certifier. Anybody run into similar situation before? Thanks for your time!
