Problems with GroupShield

HELP !!I have big problems with McAfee GroupShield for Domino. Server: R6.01 (CF1) on Windows NT4, Groupshield 5.2.1, Engine 4.3.20, dat 4.3.26.

Since last week (Thursday) Groupshield stopped working. All tasks are running GSDConfig, OAScan, ODScan, Report and Update). After starting the NT-server (Scheduled every night) the autoupdate task is running and after that no actions are taken by Groupshield. No update, no blocking of banned content, no detection of virusses (tested with EICAR Test-virus).

I talked with NAIsupport but till today no solution is offered.

I scanned the NT-server with latest dat and engine, no virusses found.

I hope someone can help me.

does it couse your domino console to hang in the morning aswell if so it is a bad dat file i have had it from time to time do a force update on groupsheild

No, nothing hangs.Even when I start an autoupdate, which is not, working, nothing hangs.

I think I have to do with some Microsoft-problem. I tried to remove GroupShield by the Control-panel, Add/Remove Programs. Clicking GroupShield For Domino, nothing happens.

I think I have to remove Groupshield manually.

Unfortunately I also cannot help you, but I just wantzed to say that you should not blame MS for it. I have been an admin for many years, about five of them beeing responsible for anti - virus stuff; and the NAI support is about the worst I can imagine. I always had to wait for months AND had to call about every week until somebody there started to work; and they were NEVER successful !

Okay, one idea is crossing my mind at the moment : I suppose that you auto - update your dat - files but nort the scan - engine as most people do. So comes the day, where your engine is out of date stopping the whole program from working when a new dat-file has arrived. In this case : Check the engine - version, if it is old, download the current one. This will help.

(The autoupdate - function is only downloading the current dat - file ! Engines come with super-dats ! (At kleast they used to, in those good old days…))
