Problem with upgrade to 7.0.2 on Mac

We attempted to upgrade from Notes for Mac 6.5 to 7.0.2 for Mac today. Instead of using the uninstall from the 6.5 CD we deleted the folders for 6.5 including the notes data folder. What happnes now is the 7.02 CD keeps trying to update instead of doing a fresh install. Anyone experience this before, or know where files may be left over preventing a fresh install?

Its on OSX 10.4.

Thanks

Rather than trying to catch all the files, why don’t you reinstall 6.5 then install 7.0.2?

Ty for reply

We attemped this as well. Still get error messages. When 6.5 attempts to start we get error that the install is currupt and to try again.

I haven’t tried AppZapper with Notes specifically, but it is very good at removing all traces of other files.

I’m assuming that you don’t have a backup of the machine that you could restore?

Here’s what to get rid of:

/Library/Receipts/NotesX.pkg (only in R7)

~/Library/Preferences/Notes Preferences

~/Library/Preferences/com.ibm.lotus.Notes.plist

Along with removing the Notes and data directories, this is it in R6.

~ stands for the user’s home directory…

Make sure that you’ve deleted the “Notes Preferences” file too. It’s in the user’s Library folder somewhere. (Do a search for it).
