This I know is going to be a stupid question, I’ve just never used it before.
The last few days I’ve been working off-site and have had no means of connection other than my GSM mobile phone which is of course 9.6Kbps.
Thus, I modified the replication settings for my mail file on the replcator page so that messages would be truncated to 40Kb. This worked great.
I’ve just come back into the office, reset the setting back to Receive Full Documents and replicated. However the attachments in the messages are still 0Kb with no options other than to show attachment properties.
The only thing I’ve been able to do is edit each document in my server copy then save and close it. This in turn forced the full document to come down to the local replica during replication.
My point is: Is this the only way to get the full documents down???
Like I said at the start I’ve never had to use this feature in any prior version since R3 so I was completely surprised by how difficult this is.
Oh and the client help is rubbish - it tells you how to set the setting, but not how to get your full documents later.
The only other thing I can think of is that the replicator page changes were done on my Office connection document, not a home one. Would this have an effect if say I’d made changes to remote and then switched to office, would the full docs have come down.
Thanks
