I have a Domino 8.5 server and client installed on the same XP machine.
Ive set thepolicy to enable shared login.
(with/without user change)
The policy gets tothe user’s contact db (names.nsf) but PW is required still.
Should it work with XP with server and client onsamebox?

There are a couple of ways to do this:
You can open the User Security dialog and see if the setting “Login to Notes using your operating system login” is checked.
or
You can look at the Notes Log (log.nsf) for your client. When an ID is successfully converted to NSL format, a log entry is created with the text “Notes shared login with the operating system is now enabled. You will not be prompted to enter a password the next time you launch Notes on this machine.”

The log in to OS is grayedout which I tookas a sign it isnt working.

There were a few settings I had to disable that were in the warnings (roaming with id in person doc,protection by Secureremote).
