Problem with ndgts.dll

Hi there,

we have a problem repairing or reinstalling Notes 8.0.2 (basic client). We always get the error message:

“The dynamic Link Library ndgts.dll cannot be found…”

After the repairing or reinstalling procedure the file ndgts.dll has been deleted in the Notes program path. And Notes cannot be started anymore. The only way fixing the problem is deleting all files by hand and installing Notes again.

I’m thankful for any clue provided to solve the problem.

Best,

Daniel

Is this a recurring situation for you, or have you only seen it once? What led up to this event?

Subject: check shortcut

Check the shortcut you are using to launch Notes.

it might refer to an old location or the start location is wrong.

Start In should be something like : “C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\framework/…”

Subject: More information

Yes it’s an recurring situation. We are using Netinstall to roll out Lotus Notes. The first installation works fine. After a successful installation the user has the possibility to click a repair button within Netinstall. But it’s just the standard repair procedure provided by Lotus Notes.

The shortcut is okay. The problem is that the repair procedure deletes files like the ndgts.dll and doesn’t reinstall them. But Notes needs these files.

I have the Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Basic Client Package C1MA2DE running on Windows 2000.

Subject: Supported Platform

Windows 2K is not a supported platform for Notes 802, this might be part of your problem. Also, it could be NetInstaller…
